Surfactants

Surfactants – These are wetting agents that lower the surface tension of a liquid, allowing easier spreading, and lower the inter facial tension between two liquids. In short, they help shampoos lather up nicely. But lather is a psychological effect like bubble bath more than effectiveness. The lathering ingredient is just that lathering ingredient and no more. It is other ingredients in shampoos that actually do the cleaning or treating. Surfactants could however be pretty harsh and for someone who is experiencing more-than-normal hair loss surfactants should be avoided.
