Bathroom Decorating Tips
April 30, 2008
With all the wonderful decoration ideas available for decorating your bathroom, wouldn’t it be a shame if you didn’t do anything about it? There isn’t any reason why your bathroom should be the one room that lets the rest of the home down. Think about it, the bathroom is the only room that you and your guests must visit. So using a few bathroom decorating ideas to liven it up makes it all that more enjoyable. Gone are the days when a bath or shower was a rushed affair.
As a bonus, your bathroom decorating ideas can really be used to make an impression on your friends. They will notice the designs you have implemented and know that you care about your home. Who knows, you may even be starting a trend.
Many of the bathroom decorating ideas can be extensions of the things that you do with the rest of the house. If your home uses low tables as part of the decoration, that same low table design will look equally as good in the bathroom. Small round or square tables are also good for magazines, which is something else that will not look out of place in your bathroom. Just tell your other half that it is still a bathroom and not a library.
You can also start with your bathroom because of its relatively small size and apply your ideas to the rest of your house if you haven’t already decided on a theme. Let’s say you like a particular tile design. If it looks in your bathroom; then why not try using it elsewhere like the kitchen or other bathrooms.
Many of the white tile designs in kitchens are no longer popular so colorful and traditional tiles can be used in other areas of the home including the kitchen, with equal effect. Bathroom decorating ideas are more than tile designs. A warm paint, colorful soap trays, dishes and dispensers can be really decorative.
Why not pick up a hobby to relief stress at the same time you decorate your bathroom. Check out a few home decorating magazines which feature ideas on decoration and see just how simple it is to create your own dispensers rather than buying them. There was even a suggestion of how to make them with clay which is not a material that would automatically spring to mind but does provide certain flexibility.
Another great idea is to put something relaxing opposite the bath, such as a picture of a boat floating on a quiet lake. There are plenty of bathroom ideas to be found so there is no excuse in neglecting this undervalued room. It takes a bit of research time and some TLC.
